T O P I C R E V I E WFree LeonI find it interesting that the nationwide legalization of gay marriage coincided with the Jupiter-Venus Conjunction, which just recently entered the United States' 9th House that begins at 19 degrees Leo (Placidus System). The 9th House deals with higher education, philosophical pursuits/abstract concepts, long distance travel/foreign matters, spirituality/religion, the law/legality and ethics. It makes me wonder what else will happen during this transit. What do you guys think?*extra info* Jupiter and Venus will Sextile the United States' Mars (0 degree orb) and Juno (1 degree orb), Trine Chiron (1 degree orb), Oppose Moon and Pallas (5 degree orbs), and Square Vesta (2 degree orb) Seimei...------------------Seimei,Jupiter NadirSeimeiI look at the Sibley chart another way.Progressed Meridian of the day to 4/7/2015PUTS 27 LEO 55 ON ASC(OPP RDX MOON).Moon is at 4th,sp sun has moved all the way to 10 pi 41,and of courserdx neptune in Sibley was Virgo just behind 10, and Neptune now with sp sun. WE ARE BEING DISSOLVED AND ARE REALLY RATHERBLIND TO IT.------------------Seimei,Jupiter NadirBelageFor those of us that prefer to use the Gemini rising chart for the US, that conjunction falls in the 4th house, which symbolizes our foundation, our home and family. It actually makes perfect sense there because our restricted idea of home and family has been profoundly altered now with marriage equality. Hmm, the transit would make sense in the 4th House, but I don't think Gemini Rising suits the United States. I mean, I highly doubt the U.S. would have been isolationist/non-intervenionist up until World War I. With Gemini Rising the U.S. would probably have been too tempted to get caught up in other nation's affairs With Sagittarius Rising, U.S. diplomats could conduct business with foreign nations without getting too involved, and it makes perfect sense that the 1800s were characterized by American pioneers migrating West, in my opinion Also, Jupiter would be the chart ruler, which would make this Jupiter-Venus Conjunction that much more significant.Belage^^^ You make some very good points. But consider this.If Gemini rising, the chart ruler Mercury was transiting in Gemini, and would have been on the ascendant and approaching a sextile to that Jupiter/Venus/Uranus trine. So the US is highlighted in the eyes of the world. Also Gemini rising, the Twins, means that there is duality in the US. And the biggest duality is the black-white dichotochomy. On June 11, the US experienced a Mars return with Mars in Gemini exactly sextiling transiting Uranus. And when transiting Mars hit an inconjunct aspect with natal Pluto, that's when the shooting in Charleston happened in June 17. That's a first house event, it happened on the US soil and it was orchestrated by a native son. Free LeonThose are very compelling observations. Furthermore, Gemini energy is often stereotyped as being comprised of two entities, and sometimes they go to war with each other, hence the American Civil War, Congressional gridlock, white-black dichotomy, etc.I suppose it could be either one. In my opinion polar signs are really just two sides of the same coin, so both energies are certainly present LaceyLeighGreat. I hope they make community college free, under this transit. :PLaceyLeighGreat. But what about the Cornwallis’ Surrender 1781, also sag rising , but Leo on 8th hse cusp. House of SEX? No responses really sought, just throwing that out there.------------------Seimei,Jupiter NadirSeimei----------------------Seimei,Jupiter Nadir
